Providing house call visits for veterinary Acupuncture, Euthanasia, Comfort Care consultation & treatment, and Quality of Life assessments in San Diego county.

About Dr. Becky

I’ve always been a sensitive person and have felt more comfortable with animals than people for most of my life. After graduating from the University of Georgia vet school, I discovered that I could relate to people most while I was caring for their pets. Sharing a mutual love for animals is a nearly universal common ground.

Cali, the 1st dog I ever spayed (and fell in love with and adopted) in vet school

Early in my career, both while treating my clients’ pets and my own, I kept looking for more options for pain relief and symptom management than traditional medicine provided. That search led me to become certified in veterinary medical acupuncture from Colorado State University. My continued interest in pain management, geriatrics, and constantly seeking a “3rd option” for terminal diagnoses led me to obtain my certification in hospice and palliative care medicine from the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. I have been providing in-home acupuncture, advanced pain management, comfort care, and end-of-life services ever since.

I love helping families develop the best plan for their pet and the family, even when there are multiple illnesses at play, and I believe there should be no judgement if a family cannot pursue every treatment recommendation. Understanding a family’s strengths and limitations is crucial for creating a workable treatment plan. When the time comes for euthanasia, my calm presence and deep respect for the human-animal bond help provide my clients with a sense of ease and comfort during that difficult hour.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the local hills and mountains, cooking, traveling with my family, watching UGA football, and snuggling with my two "Supermutts” we adopted from Barbados. I also spend time helping pets of un-housed, and other under-served clients, with various charitable organizations.
